Why War Moccs? During war time moccasins were made  and embellished for those leaving to protect their loved ones and way of life. It was said that these moccasins would either bring them home or carry them into their next life. It is with that spirit in mind that I bring our rich history of artisanship to you.

 

  Heidi Houle is a 14 year artisan from Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement. She hand crafts all her items. This is a space to share the rich history and cultural significance of each handcrafted piece. Each creation is a reflection of tradition, creativity, and the spirit of the Metis people.
